Best of Beauty 2019— Favorite Affordable Skin Care and Beauty Products
A best of beauty 2019 round up of favorite affordable skin care and beauty products that were a game changer.
This year I had an opportunity to try some amazing skin care, which included drugstore brands as well as some high end products. It’s been really fun to get to sample both luxe skin care and beauty brands, but also give drugstore makeup and affordable drugstore skin care products a test. In the end, my best of beauty 2019 round up includes a mix of both, and my favorite products in my skincare lineup might surprise you.
The Must Have Skin Care Products
Earlier in 2019 I worked with Neutrogena, and was sent their Hydro Boost Water Gel. After that campaign, I have purchased this jar twice. It’s everything you want a must have skin care product to be. It hydrates, absorbs quickly and can be used both night and day. During the colder months, I found this product to be the absolute best for battling dry skin.
Hyaluronic Acid is a hot ingredient and virtually every dermatologist will tell you to have a skincare product with hyaluronic acid in it. It improves elasticity and leaves the skin dewy—who wouldn’t want that?
Next on my list to try is a more expensive option, so it will be interesting to compare the two Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Cream and see which will make it to the best of beauty 2019 round up the next time around.
The Must Try Beauty Products
I was introduced to Tarte Shape Tape by a girl working at Ulta. It’s a super popular beauty product and it deserves all the raves. The Shape tape is only available at Ulta—no idea why, but while it’s a little pricey a little goes a long way, and typically I get good six months out of just one bottle.
It’s perfect for those of us that need a strong concealer for under eyes, and I also use it to contour my face a little as a highlighter. Definitely a must have beauty product.
Best of Beauty 2019 —The Ultimate Favorite Product
The award for best of beauty 2019— the make up category goes to the least expensive item on this list (!) Yes, it’s the most affordable beauty product and it’s also a drug store beauty product. Can you believe it?
On most days you will find me with L’Oréal’s Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream, a little mascara and highlighter, and gloss. That’s it.
Without make up, no matter what I do my skin especially around my nose is always red. I’ve tried every single cream and correcting serum under the sun and nothing really works.
I did recently finally tried an IPL laser treatment which helped a lot, and I am thinking of doing more of those to fight the redness, but for now this $12 BB cream is my favorite beauty purchase of 2019. It neutralizes the red and gives just enough coverage to make it seem I’m not wearing make up.
I keep on in my make up and also have another one in my purse—to fight redness on the go!
Favorite Make Up Buys of 2019
The runner up for daily wear award goes to this Pixi Glow Duo almost every time that I wear this highlighter I get compliments on my skin. I didn’t always wear a highlighter as part of my daily beauty, but now I’m addicted to the look (and maybe the compliments). You can find the duo at Target—you can see from the photos how much I love and use this product.
An honorable mention must go to my favorite lipstick of the year Charlotte Tilbury’s Matte Revolution Lipstick. It’s a splurge, but with this item you really feel the luxe ingredients and the pigments are gorgeous. The packaging is beautiful too, and in truth it feels very good to have a luxury brand lipstick as part of my beauty make up bag.
