Last year when I started seeing everything pop up with pom poms from pom pom bags to shirts and shoes, I thought it was a quick fad that would go away.
But looking at all the Spring wear hitting the stores, it’s clear tassels, infinity scarfs and pom poms are here to stay. I wanted to find a cute pom pom clutch bag to incorporate into Spring and Summer, but then I saw that pom poms were on sale at Michaels.
So of course, I immediately thought of my next DIY project.
Why You’ll Love Making This DIY Pom Pom Clutch
This DIY pom pom clutch took about 10 minutes, all you need is a glue gun, pom poms and a clutch. Also, adding pom poms or tassels is another fun way to spruce up an old beach bag, or sandals.
This would be such a fun project for a girls night in!

At first, I was just going to use an old straw beach tote, but then I found this clutch at Goodwill for $6.
So this DIY pom pom clutch project cost me a total of $10 bucks.
How to Make the Pom Pom Clutch
I cleaned up the leather a bit, snipped off that bow and heated up my glue gun.
You can find all kinds of pom poms at Michaels (or other craft store). They have large and small, colorful or specific colors.
I played around with a few color combos, and then found a pattern that I liked and went to town quickly gluing the pom poms on the outer edge of the flap.
