How to make mulled wine

How to Make The Best Mulled Wine

Mulled wine is as easy to make as it is delicious. You can adjust the alcohol level by either leaving the pot on longer, to allow the alcohol to cook away or if you prefer a stronger drink, you can add a little bit of brandy or whiskey. No judgment here. Do you, boo! It’s an easy, no-brainer recipe that you can make for the holidays, for tailgating or for ordinary fall nights.

You can also customize it to your taste. Lately, I’ve been serving it with banana or pumpkin bread muffins as an afternoon treat—kind of like a warm and cozy happy hour.

Additional Notes on this Warm Cocktail Recipe

  • You can use any red wine you like. Leftover red wines work great for this recipe too.
  • I used the Spiced Apple cider from Trader Joe’s and it worked great. Added additional spice and flavor to the wine.
  • You can make mulled wine without brandy or whiskey, or you can customize it and add more or less depending on your taste.
  • The muffins are from Trader Joe’s pumpkin mix and have you tried their pumpkin butter? Amazing. Also, I am not sponsored by Trader Joe’s, sadly.
  • Warning: You will not stop making this all winter. Sorry. Not sorry. But, can’t you just picture yourself sipping on this all day Sunday starting now through March?
