Is it Hard to Infuse Your Own Vodka?

If you’re thinking you don’t want to infuse your own because it’s too complicated, let me assure you it’s not. Heck, I did it!I wanted a fall inspired cocktail and settled on a spicy pear flavor.

To infuse vodka for the spicy pear martini, simply pour vodka into a large container, add pear and spices and let it sit on your counter for a week or at least a couple of days.

The spices and the fruit turned my vodka brown, and I didn’t think it was going to be as delicious until I strained it into a bottle and put it in the fridge.

After a few days in the fridge, it turned out super well.

To Infuse Vodka Follow These Steps:

  1. Pour vodka into a large container, add pear and spices and let it sit on your counter for a week or at least a couple of days.

I improvised this part, so feel free to do the same. But here is what I added to my vodka:

  • 2 anise star ( initially I added a lot more, but I found the licorice flavor to be overwhelming
  • 1 vanilla bean
  • 6-8 cinnamon sticks
  • 5 cloves
  • 3 pears, sliced

2. After several days place the container in the refrigerator.

3. Take out the container, the vodka most likely will turn brown from the spices and the fruit. Strain into a bottle. Enjoy as is or make the spicy pear martini with your newly infused vodka.

If You Don’t Want to Infuse Your Own Vodka

Guess what?! If you don’t want to infuse your own vodka you definitely do not need to do so, to still have a pretty perfect, spicy pear martini. You know, my favorite way is still semi-homemade!

There are quite a few flavored vodkas on the market that would make a great substitute, try a cinnamon or a pear vodka and simply follow the recipe for how to make the martini.

How to Make a Spicy Pear Martini
